Type Locality and Naming
The type section is located at Heijianshan, Wutumeiren (Urt Moron) Township, Golmud City, Qinghai. It was named by Wang Rennong in 1994.
Synonym: Urt Moron Fm
Lithology and Thickness
Clastics and Limestone. Neritic clastic rock intercalated with carbonate rock. Thickness 297.8 m, and absent in the south area.

Lower contact
Conformable contact with the underlying Chengqianggou Fm.

Coral Siphonophyllia huaitoutailaensis, Brachiopod Leptagonia distorita, Echinoconchus elegans, Rotaia aff. subtrigona, Cancrinella sp., etc.,
Age
Entry says "early Visean (middle Early Carboniferous)"; but Lexicon chart shows as upper Visean-Serpukhovian and Coeval with Xihansitegou Fm in this same interval. For graphic purposes to avoid overlap, polygon displayed as upper part of that interval.
